The Higher Education Commission has recently announced the Undergraduate Scholarships for students residing in the Coastal Region of Balochistan. This scholarship opportunity is open to exceptional students from districts including Gwadar, Lasbela/Hub, Kech (Turbat), and Awaran in Balochistan. Interested students who wish to pursue their undergraduate studies in HEC-recognized public/private sector universities or degree awarding institutions in Pakistan are encouraged to apply. The scholarships are available for all fields of study under the project called Coastal Region Higher Education Scholarship Programme for Balochistan. Eligibility Criteria for Coastal Regions Scholarship

• The applicant must possess a valid residence or local certificate from one of the following districts: Gwadar, Lasbela Hub, Kech (Turbat), or Awaran District in Balochistan.
• The candidate should have successfully completed 12 years of schooling and obtained a minimum of 50% marks in both the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) and the Secondary School Certificate (SSC), or an equivalent qualification.
• The maximum allowable age at the time of application is 22 years.
• Prospective candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria set by both the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the respective university for admission into the Bachelor of Science (BS) program.
• Students currently enrolled in any BS program prior to the scholarship advertisement may also apply, provided they have completed a maximum of one year of the session.
• Candidates currently availing any other HEC or government scholarship are not eligible to apply.
• Students awaiting their examination results are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

How to Apply for HEC Scholarship for Coastal Regions of Balochistan

• Online applications for the scholarship program can be submitted through the HEC website at https://scholarships.hec.gov.pk.
• No hard copies of the application or documentation are required at this time.
• A non-refundable application processing fee of Rs 500 must be paid at Habib Bank Limited. Use account number 1742 7900 1334 01 under the title ‘Higher Education Commission’ and branch code 1742.
• The original bank payment record or slip must be securely kept by the candidate and submitted with the online application and at the testing location. Failure to produce the original bank deposit slip will result in the candidate being denied entry to the test.
• Once the application is completed, a payment slip must be submitted online. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
• The Higher Education Commission reserves the right to halt or terminate the scholarship program at any time and for any reason.

Important Note

The allocation of scholarships will be based on a combination of merit and district quota as outlined in PC-1.

To select candidates, a two-step process will be followed. Firstly, candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the Aptitude Test conducted by HEC. Additionally, their academic records will be assessed.

It is essential for applicants to obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the HEC-conducted test.

A comprehensive Merit List will be prepared using the online data provided by applicants. It is important to note that any misrepresentation, errors, or omissions in the provided information may result in the cancellation of the scholarship at any stage.
