Types Of Scholarships
Pakistani students who meet the basic eligibility criteria and other requirements of Hungarian universities can apply for Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships.
These scholarships are available for the following programs:
1. Bachelor’s Degree (after 12 years of education)
2. One-Tier Master’s Degree (after 12 years of education)
3. Master’s Degree (after 16 years of education)
4. PhD Degree (after 17/18 years of education)
Eligibility Criteria For Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship 2024
Citizenship:
Applicant must be a citizen of Pakistan/AJ&K.
Education Level:
- Bachelor’s/One-Tier Master’s: Completed HSSC/Intermediate degree or equivalent before August 01, 2024.
- Master’s: Completed 16 years Bachelors or equivalent degree before August 01, 2024.
- PhD: Completed 17/18 years Masters/MS/MPhil degree before August 01, 2024.
Age:
No upper age limit, but minimum age for undergraduates is 18 by August 31, 2024.
Application Forms:
Fill all fields in the Hungary and HEC application forms.
Attestation:
Certificates/Transcripts/Degrees must be attested by IBCC and HEC.
Language Proficiency:
IELTS/TOEFL scores as required by Hungarian universities.
Health Condition:
Submit a medical certificate issued after November 15, 2024, proving satisfactory health condition.
Bond:
Submit a legal bond to HEC committing to not change discipline post-scholarship and return to serve Pakistan.
Additional Requirements:
Fulfill all other host university/Tempus Public Foundation/HEC requirements.
HAT/USAT Test:
Provide HAT or USAT test scores with a minimum of 50 out of 100. Register at https://etc.hec.gov.pk/ for upcoming tests.
Screening:
Initial screening based on USAT/HAT scores and federal government quota policy. HEC may modify nomination criteria.
Non-Eligibility for Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship 2024
Applications will not be considered for dual citizens or those providing incomplete/misleading information. HEC reserves the right to cancel awarded scholarships due to misrepresentation.
Note: Students applying for professional degrees such as Medical, Engineering, Nursing, Architecture, Law, Veterinary Medicine, etc. are solely responsible for confirming the accreditation of their chosen program from the respective councils. These councils include the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC), Pakistan Council for Architects and Town Planners (PCATP), Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC), Pakistan Technology Council, etc.

How to Apply for Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship 2024
Submission Requirements:
- Mandatory: Submit online applications at both the Hungarian website and HEC website.
- Failure to submit on both websites will disqualify further processing.
- No hard copies needed initially; keep a record of submitted documents.
Hungarian Website Application (Step 1):
- Apply through the online system at Tempus Public Foundation Hungary.
- Access the application surface post-registration, upload required documents.
- No applications accepted after the deadline.
- Get printed copies after applying online.
HEC Online Application (Step 2):
- Apply at HEC Scholarship Portal.
- Select “Hungarian Scholarship Program” after profile completion.
- Portal closes on January 15, 2024 (1600 Hours Pakistan Time).
- Retain a signed printed copy after successful submission.
Test Scores and Documentation:
- Provide HAT or USAT test scores (minimum 50 out of 100).
- Upload test results on the HEC portal for consideration.

Compulsory Documents:

Additional Information:
Existing study program applicants and result-awaiting candidates can apply, subject to final document submission before August 01, 2024.
Failure to submit required documents may result in the cancellation of the applicant’s candidature.
Additional Instructions for Hungaricum Scholarship 2024
Doctoral Level Applicants:
Upload the following documents online by January 15, 2024, 1600 hrs (Pakistan Standard Time), except for the Statement of Supervisor.
Research Plan:
- Minimum 2 pages, typed in Times New Roman 12-point font.
- Must be in the language of the selected study program.
- Indicate resources used, and checked for plagiarism by universities.
Letter of Recommendation:
Statement of the Supervisor:
- Required by the proposed Doctoral School.
- A declaration from the supervisor at the proposed Host Institution.
Test/Interviews:
HEC may conduct tests/interviews for shortlisted candidates.
Application Process Guidelines:
- Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
- The HEC’s recommendation is final and binding.
- Only submitted applications will be considered.
- Result-awaiting candidates and previous nominees may reapply, but final documents must be submitted by August 01, 2024.
Disciplinary Actions:
- No requests for subject/discipline changes after nomination or final selection.
- Withdrawal after the final award may lead to disciplinary action and a ban on applying for a certain period.
Nomination Process:
All nominations from Pakistan will go through HEC.
