Guidelines for Candidates Appearing in EPE
- The following instructions/guidelines are mandatory for each candidate appearing in Engineering Practice Examination (EPE).
- The roll no slip, original CNIC, and original PEC registration card are required for all candidates to be allowed to take the exam.
- The exam will begin at 1000 hours. Therefore, candidates should arrive at the center one hour before the exam starts.
- Once the exam has begun, no candidate will be permitted to enter the examination hall.
- In the examination hall, programming calculators, smartphones, tablets, laptops, and iPods are not permitted.
- However, a simple calculator is allowed.
- The exam will consist of two parts and be held simultaneously: Part-I (02 hours) and Part II (03 hours), with a 90-minute break.
- The minimum qualifying marks for each Part will be 60 percent. Each Part must be passed independently by the candidate.
- Candidates who fail to pass any part of the examination will not be allowed to take the next three. If a candidate fails to qualify or does not appear in any of the three subsequent tests, they will be declared ineligible and may appear in either Part.
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will be used for the exam.
- Part II of the exam shall be open-book; bound copies only. It is not permissible to use loose paper, notes, or handouts.
- The final results will be sent via the PEC website and then by post.
- Candidates are not allowed to influence the examination or the staff. Those responsible will be disqualified.
- Candidates are not allowed to engage in Law and Order situations that could affect the exam.

What is EPE?
EPE stands for Engineering Practice Examinations. The Committee will conduct an exam to assess the engineering knowledge, competence, and skills of the applicant engineer. This examination may be performed by local or foreign services hired or used for this purpose. EPE is not required for registered engineers but is essential for professional engineer title assessment. A registered engineer who has attained a minimum five-year experience in engineering from an institution, service, or organization recognized and earned the required credit points will be eligible for EPE.

EPE Test Pattern
The candidates appearing in EPE Test must complete 100 MCQs to pass the test. Applicants are given enough time to do this. Each mark is worth one point. However, there is no negative marking.
